Navigating perimenopause, running a business, and raising two energetic kids is no walk in the park. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that balance is a constant work in progress. Here’s a glimpse into my daily routine and how I try to make healthy lifestyle choices along the way.

MORNING ☀️

The alarm goes off at 5:40 am, and depending on the day, I might sneak off to the gym before the kids wake up. I know that my exercise is done, and I’ll feel much better for it even if getting out of bed at the ungodly hour is struggle (especially in the depths of an Irish winter 😉). It gives me the energy and mental clarity I need to tackle whatever comes my way.

By the time I’m back, it’s the usual morning rush — getting Henry, who’s 10, and Hannah, who’s 5, ready for school. Somewhere in between finding missing socks, shouting at them to brush their teeth and packing lunches, I hydrate with a glass of water mixed with electrolytes. Staying hydrated has become non-negotiable, especially since I noticed how much better I feel when I start the day right.

Breakfast is always protein-rich. Eggs with avocado and toast, or greek yogurt with berries, or a smoothie loaded with protein powder, chai seeds or almond butter. And before I forget — HARMONY, my go-to hormone complex. It’s been a game-changer for managing my mood, energy, and focus during perimenopause.

Once the kids are off to school, it’s work mode. Robert and I are both knee-deep in running Sentro Labs, and mornings are usually packed with meetings, marketing, brainstorming sessions, and product development.

AFTERNOON ☕️

After a productive morning, I break for lunch — usually something simple yet nourishing, like a grilled chicken wrap or leftovers from the night before. Then, it’s straight back to work. Emails, content planning, research — the list goes on.

At some point, I’ll have a coffee to keep the momentum going. Afternoons tend to fly by, especially when you’re in the zone. But as 2.30pm rolls around, it’s time to hit pause and switch gears.

I pick up Henry and Hannah from school, and from there, it’s the usual flurry of after-school activities. Whether it’s GAA, soccer, ballet, or guitar lessons, our evenings are often a juggling act of drop-offs, pick-ups, and feeezing from the sidelines.

EVENING 🌙

By the time we’re all back home, it’s family time. Dinner is usually something exceptionally boring as we just don’t have time for cooking a gourmet meal during the week and let’s be honest my kids probably wouldn’t eat in anyhow!!! I usually opt for chicken breast or grilled burgers with sweet potato mash and green beans or similar.

After we’ve eaten and the kids are winding down with their favourite shows, I take my second supplement of the day — EQUILIBRIUM, my sleep support complex. An hour later and it’s the usual bedtime routine of endless stories, cuddles before I finally get some downtime.

I try to spend at least half an hour reading before bed, something that has nothing to do with work or wellness — just pure enjoyment. And then, it’s lights out. Sleep has become a priority because I know how much it impacts everything else.

*Disclaimer… Living this way is definitely a work in progress and some days go completely pair shaped and can feel more like I’m on a treadmill 😉 But sure it’s all about balance! Every day, I try to make choices that support my well-being while still being present for my family and the work I love but as we all know sometimes life has other plans…
