My Journey as a Founder, Mum, and Woman in My 40s
Hi, I’m Elaine Ellis—a wife, mum of two, and entrepreneur. Life in my forties is a balancing act between raising my kids, Henry (10) and Hannah (5), running a business, and, let’s be honest, just trying to keep my energy up. If you’re a woman in your forties with a full-time job, kids, and a never-ending to-do list, I see you. Because I am you.
Like so many women, I hit a wall in my late thirties. Chronic fatigue, unpredictable moods, sleepless nights, and irregular periods became my reality. I didn’t realize at first that I was in the thick of perimenopause—I just thought I was burning out. But when the brain fog made even simple tasks feel overwhelming, I knew something had to change.
That’s when I started researching, testing, and fine-tuning my approach to health. I wasn’t willing to accept feeling less than every single day. I wanted to take back control—of my hormones, my energy, and my mindset. That’s what led me to create Sentro Labs and Harmony, a supplement specifically designed to support women navigating perimenopause and menopause. But more than that, it’s what fueled my personal mission: to empower women like you and me to feel good again.
Now, I’m not just here as the founder of a supplement company—I’m here as someone who is right in the trenches with you. Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing my personal fitness journey, meal prep tips, and mindset shifts that have helped me stay on top of my health while juggling everything else life throws at me.
From Burnout to Balance: Why I Had to Make a Change
I spent years building businesses, in Australia from a bespoke furniture brand, to successful e-commerce brand. I thrived on problem-solving and growth, but this came at a cost and after years of working and having kids my body had enough... I had ran myself into the ground.
Around 39 approximately 1 year after having my little girl, Hannah, I started experiencing:
✔ Crippling fatigue (like, "fall-asleep-standing-up" kind of tired)
✔ Brain fog that made me forget simple words mid-sentence
✔ Mood swings that made me feel like a stranger to myself
✔ Sleepless nights, no matter how exhausted I was
✔ Irregular/heavy periods that threw my whole system out of sync
It took me a while to connect the dots, but I finally realised that this was perimenopause—not just stress. And once I understood what was happening, I became obsessed with figuring out how to feel better.
Through research, trial and error, and a lot of persistence, I found what worked for me:
✅ The right nutrients (Lion’s Mane for brain fog, Magnesium Bisglycinate for calm, and a powerhouse of vitamins for energy and hormone balance)
✅ Strength training to boost metabolism and keep my body strong
✅ Meal planning to fuel my body without stress
✅ Mindset shifts to stop guilt-tripping myself for taking care of me
That’s what led to Harmony—a supplement I wish I had when I first started this journey. I created it so that women wouldn’t have to piece together solutions like I did. But supplements are just one piece of the puzzle.
What You Can Expect From Me
I know firsthand how hard it is to put yourself first when you have a family, a business, and endless responsibilities. But I also know this: if we don’t take care of ourselves, everything else suffers too. That’s why I’m going to be sharing:
💪 My fitness journey—how I fit in workouts while managing a business and family life
🥗 Meal prep strategies—quick, nutritious meals that keep me energized (without spending hours in the kitchen)
🧘♀️ Mindset shifts—because learning to say no and prioritize yourself is just as important as diet and exercise
I want to be real with you about what works and what doesn’t. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress.
Let’s Do This Together
If you’ve been struggling with low energy, weight changes, mood swings, or just feeling off, I get it. I’m walking this path too, and I want to share everything I’ve learned to help other women take back their health.
So if you’re ready to start feeling like yourself again, let’s do this together. Keep an eye out for my upcoming posts on fitness, food, and mindset—and let’s support each other along the way.
Here’s to feeling strong, healthy, and unstoppable—at any age. 💪✨
